  1. Thanks for that Bruce. Excellent bit of information and advice.
  2. Yes the batteries are the correct way around. There is a small red power light on it to indicate that the unit is switched on. Can the driver be replaced? Is it a job for someone that repaires them all the time. As in the importers I expect. I also had the power at max.
  3. I presume the 940mm would be visible too. What could be wrong if the light isn't working. I have new batteries in it. Could the emiter be malfunctioning?
  4. Would that apply to all wavelengths of IR light?
  5. I have tried to see the IR light with my phone. No purple glow.
  6. I have tried opening the beam up. Still can't see any illumination. I was hoping to find out if the illuminator does actually work with this sight. If I knew that it should work then maybe there is a fault with it.
  7. I have a Pulsar 940 IR illuminator (79076) which will be used on a Yukon Photon XT 6.5x50 Digital Night Vision Sight (26348). My problem is it does not seem to be illuminating. Are they compatable with each other? The red light is coming on when the illuminator is switched on. The light is invisible to the human eye. It was purchased new about 4 years ago and has never been used,

    Thermal

Expensive for a viewer. Thanks for the reply.

    Thermal

What kind of thermal are you using. I am hoping to get a thermal device just for spotting and then use the Yukon Photon with IR for shooting them. I see that Leupold have a new "LTO Tracker 2 HD" thermal device on the market. Anybody any experience of this.

I expect that you are saying that the reflection from the device can be seen on your face as you look through it.
  11. So do you think Fox's can see the 940 nm. What kind of range do you think it would have.
  12. There is a small problem with the quad bolt. It needs to be lubricated and cleaned where the bolt handle is pushed up against the bolt as it is being turned. I don't have my bolt with me at the moment. I will try to explain better later.
  13. Just wondering if Fox's can see any signature or light source from any of the thermal devices.
  14. I am using a small torch as an attachment. I think all Fox's can see it. I was hoping to get a pil for it if it is possible.
  15. Is it possible to get and use a black IR light for use with the Yukon Photon XT sight. Fox's can see the red IR light. So black would be a better choice.
  16. I see in an air rifle forum where someone got Leopold Quick Release Base blanks. Theses bases could be machined to whatever rifle that they were needed to be put on.
  17. Theses don't seem to be quick release.
  18. Now where do I get a one piece quick release mount. Gave a quick search. £200 plus.
  19. Very good. Thanks for your reply.
  20. That is what I want the mounts for . To swap between a day scope and NV.
  21. I have the rings and the mounts now. Hoping to change the bases for the correct ones. If I use the picatinny rail and I get QR mounts for the rail will the scope hold its zero after repeatedly removing the scope.
  22. Ordered wrong product. Theses are Leupold Quick Release Bases. 2 Pieces Sako Tapered Dovetail Gloss Black 53064. To be used in conjunction with QR rings. £75 ono.
  23. I actually purchased QR Leopold rings and bases. They are supposed to hold their zero after removing the scope and replacing it.The bases have for some reason a tapered dovetail base. As far as I can remember the quad has a 11mm dovetail rail on it but the clamping mechanism on the bases are from 12 to 18 mm. How do I attach them to the rifle.
  24. I am looking for a system of quick release mounts for a Sako Quad rifle. I am hoping to switch from a 1" tube to a 30mm tube. Any suggestions welcome.
