  1. Iā€™m not very up on this but one US firearms dealer mentioned this extra burden as a reason for them no longer selling into the U.K. Ā not sure he interpreted the rules correctly but thatā€™s what he told me.Ā

For goods sent from overseas and sold directly to UK consumers withoutĀ OMPĀ involvement, the overseas seller will be required to register and account for the VAT to HMRC.

    That's exactly what I mean

Yeah if you have a mod then why would you want to put a brake on the endĀ

Fair enough if you are shooting PRS use a brake because there is nobody in your general vicinity to bother with blast but I suppose if you are shooting with people either side of you then I think it is common politeness to use a mod as it is quieter and doesn't create a back draught of dust and hot gasses although I wouldn't mindĀ  trying it out to see if it workedĀ

Sometimes you have to shoot with a mod in certain locations,Ā competitions or situations but donā€™t want the recoil impulse of a mod, you want the control that a brake affords. The sacrifice is noise suppression isnā€™t as good as a normal moderator.Ā

Itā€™s a niche product for sure but obv it isnā€™t the best tool for all jobs.Ā

I do hope it works out but its already tainted following last years open range war. I just want to shoot without having to see all the shooting 'politics' going on in public.

    Ā

100%. Letā€™s just leave last year to the past and be open-minded on the future.
    Ā

At the end of the day I am excited...other people seem to be working hard to arrange more opportunities for me to shoot and meet like-minded people - thatā€™s all most of us really want. Iā€™m sure there will be issues along the way but there are a lot of good people driving this and Iā€™m sure if we show positive support at the start, we will collectively have the outcome we want in the end.Ā

If you use it for competitive benchrest - i.e 5 rounds fired in 15 to 20 seconds - perhaps 1200 rounds before accuracy starts to tail off.Ā  But, we shoot long-range benchrest every monthĀ  (about 30 rounds needed) so, with testing, about 400 rounds per year - the barrel will give you about three years competitive shooting.

    Interesting. Thx

  5. Most are using vet tape. It is cheap,Ā sticks to itself and is easy to attach/remove and doesnā€™t leave any residue on the scope. It just grips to the scope and ontoĀ itself.Ā You can get it in just about any colour and pattern these days. Def helps protect scopes on barricades.Ā

Scotch i think they are just under Ā£380 , so not the cheapest! Probably not the quietest either.Ā  I doubtĀ  if what ever im shooting will tell the difference either?šŸ˜‚

I donā€™t care about the noise reduction so much. Much more interested in the recoil impulse and if it actually is better than a moderator. Very curious what you think. Thx
