  1. No. Most definately not. The unfired round will be made from brass that is smaller than SAAMI spec, ensuring it will fit in any chamber. FLS will only take it back near to SAAMI, or on it, if you are lucky. Brass work hardens, which is why we anneal the necks. You can only push the webs back as far as the dies will allow, and sometimes that isn't enough to chamber the case. Hi Baldy Thanks for the help, I know you re an expert, just tried once fired FLS brass in new chamber and it fits without any resistance, so I reckon I had a bit of luck! Regards Redding
  2. Thanks ds1, if they dont chamber after FLS it will be new brass
  3. No I did not specify any chamber, its a Lowther Walther barrel and is being made to fit a Tikka T3 in .308. My thinking was that a FLS case would be the same dimensions as a case from an unfired factory round!
  4. Erm yes, I used to Collet Die then shoulder die Decided to go back to FLS
  5. Ok thanks, theres a guy on Youtube called "the real gunsmith" that said you cant do it because every chamber is different and the brass has a memory, it just didnt make sense to me because if I full length size back to SAAMI its surely the same dimensions as new brass.
  6. Thanks for the replies I wanted to get the correct headspacing So I return the brass to SAAMI spec and adjust the die for correct headspace after its been fireformed in the new chamber yes?
  7. Collecting my re-barreled .308 tomorrow and have a question about brass. I have a quantity of once fired Hornady brass, do I full length size it now in readiness or wait until I get the rifle back here?

    BC,s

Hornady are now using Doppler to calculate BC,s on some bullets and show G1, so the statement that G1 is for "Flat base bullets" is redundant I guess.

    BC,s

I keep seeing Ballistic Coefficients described in G1 & G7 figures. If, as we are led to believe, G1 figures relate to flat based bullets then why do makers such as Hornady refer to the BC of their .308 155 gr. ELD Match bullet as 0.461 (G1) when it is patently a Boat-tailed bullet. More annoying is they also quote a G7 BC of 0.232. Just confuses the hell out of me.
  10. Got it, I rely heavily on the stop pin, but 100 clicks from 100 mtrs is plenty for me.
  11. Not sure, I was replying from my phone, maybe thats got something to do with it
  12. Fine, thats your opinion and of course you are entitled to it
  13. Do you mean 200 clicks from the 100 meter setting, or there are 200 clicks available from start to end with no stop pin in place? If you mean 200 from 100m then without the pin in place that could theoretically get me out beyond 1000 meters!
  14. Only to get it back to zero after i fitted the 20 moa rail. I have 101 clicks of elevation with the pin in place
  15. I dont understand what you are saying here, my 4.8-35X60 V8 is zeroed at 100m and I have 101 clicks available from there, I have mounted it on a 20 moa rail though!
  16. I had the barrel on my CZ Style cut to 12" a few years ago, with a PH moddy its a dream to bash bunnys from the motor, 10 rounds of Win 40 grn subs cut a 3/4" hole in the target at 60 yards. Go for it
  17. Hi
