  1. Yeah I guess it wouldn’t be a problem

apart from obviously the factory rail is part of the reason for buying this model

so one has to lay out more cash !

The factory one is nice , dovetailed and located by locking screws that fit into dimples in the top rail,

as I’ve said it’s all very nicely done

and at around 1 k it would be difficult to replicate using after market parts

  2. Not sure if it was as Good as an 1 inch

but yeah it was there or there about,

im sure a good shooter would do very well with the gun,

this was on Hythe mid November breezy but not a gale,

I’m a pleasure shooter and now using 22’s and my pistol calibre rifles a lot more , just pure economics , they are way cheaper to shoot!

  3. Couldn’t really say tbh,

    Used it at 100 on a McQueens 200 target, which has a V about 2inches I guess?
only used Eley Sport , the gun held the V

Used it at 300 on figure 11’ s full elevation on my NF and 2/3rds down the ladder!

I’m sure a quicker round would do better!

great trigger, and proper bolt release,

    the package works well,

  4. 😚 used to be Smiles to the gallon !

alas living here in Kent that’s no longer true,

housing developments all around me have brought in thousands of people and cars so the roads are rammed 90%
    of the year ,

both my local Clay shoots have now gone due to this ,

old cars and modern fuel don’t really mix so being stuck in jams is no fun at all !

such a shame , used to be nice here

    Ces’t la vie

  5. Having been a pistol shooter from 80' till the ban, ive not bothered with such odd ball types of firearms,  i never touched coal burners then and would'nt now!

im only thinking of a Long 44 now, just thought it may add a bit of fun at 100 yards,  plus they are cheap to feed,     if its going to be a mission, sod it,   but one can ask!

ive just had the new brief for Lydd early next month, good grief what a drama!         im committed now so will attend, but cant help but think this may well be a one off!

As the main reason for shooting there was one could use HME stuff with little or no drama, that's not the case  now!    so i'l just see how it goes,

  6. More confusuion!

we regularly use 338's   416's 45-70 45,44,357 blah blah.....................  Lydd do the same?          a Calibre limit is never mentioned ?  just the HME limit, and MV's over 3200, so no HMR's or 22-250's and such.......................      seems as ever its a lottery

According to my boss Lydd members use Cap And ball stuff to!   Maybe  its different down here, Hythe also has a Clay Pigeon layout and target Shotgun!    some what larger than 30cal!

I see another club has incurred the wrath of the MoD at Hythe on 16th last.  Don't know who but they've been suspended for a serious breach of safety procedure.

The MoD range access is only going one way, increased scrutiny of organisations, reduced access, and increasing costs.

If you want to shoot at Bisley, join the NRA,  you get their personal insurance cover too.  You will need a Safe Shooters Card either issued by an affiliated club or direct from NRA (cost involved).  Just book, turn up and shoot.

I was at Hythe that day,   from all accounts the club started shooting before the RO had signed on,    a lesson to all !

Dont know what club was involved?     it was busy with a few clubs in attendance........................
