Hi
Â
After looking into this, our standard 17cal mod will cope with the fireball.

Hi
Â
The fireball is an odd one, bangs out at around the 4000fps mark but will less powder then the 17 rem.
I will have a look at the gas capacity and get back to you if thats ok.

Well, Onelesscharlie, I'll be very interested to hear how you go on with that.
Even more interesting would be to hear of your experiences with the Archer repair:
I have a now very old one that still works fine, but wonder how to keep it going in the event of it eventually developing a fault now that Starlight are no longer with us - it has served excellently and I've grown attached to it.
So, go on, what was the service like?
Hi
Have had it back for about a fortnight now, fitted to my 223 and well and truly christened, Julian did exactly what he said, when he said and the unit is performing really well.

Hi
That mod with the AI spigot mounting is £300 plus transfers.

Having used a digital night vision scope for a while now I thought it was an ideal opportunity to compare it with a tubed unit. I purchased a starlight archer with a trashed tube and has it re-tubed and serviced by Starlight. The new set-up was assembled last night and comprised of the said Archer, a Riton Conquer 3-18x50 side focus scope, a decent IR source and a set of 34mm medium rings.I will fit it all to my Tikka T3 Supervarmint this weekend along with an adjustable recoil pad to cope with the extra length and see how it compares, the image quality when hand held is superb.

Hi
Â
The residue has difficulty in sticking to the stainless steel internals and as such it tends to self clean, but I get what you are saying.

So here is the new Midi S Series moderator, hot off the press (well centre lathe). All stainless steel fully welded construction and coming in at 48mm diameter and 110mm long, it is somewhat shorter than the standard unit. All centrefire calibres catered for within reason. This particular one is for a 22BR with M18x1 mounting thread.
I will start on the 44mm diameter variant later this week, for that lower, racing silhouette

Good luck with your new purchase though.

Excellent news Colin, I nearly PMd you the other day are you in a position to still do the adjustable but pads again..? I’d do I need one.Â
Hi, I dont see why not. What is it to fit onto?

After almost five years away from the market place, we will shortly be in a position to once again, offer bespoke moderators to the shooting public.
We will no longer be offering a standard range of lightweight strippable aluminium models as there are already plenty to choose from, we will however, be offering our range of proven stainless steel units in calibres ranging from .17" to .406", with all standard mounting threads catered for.
We will also be offering the combined brake /moderator unit complete with M18 X 1.5 mounting thread if the requirement is there.
All the best
