ChrisF Posted May 21, 2016 Report Share Posted May 21, 2016 The AICS mag is designed for the Rem700 , and is a double stack mag that tapers to a single feed posn , this is so it can fit into the bottom of the rem action etc . The size of the mag well will take the AICS mag and also the AI AW magazine , just the AW mag will not fit higher enough to feed with cutting a lot of metal out form the bottom of the action , tis is not usually reccomended on the Rem700 . Custom actions like the Rem700 , but with a smaller ejection port , ie more metal on top etc , they do cut these for the AW mag , thinking they have enough meat left in the action after the bigger cut in the bottom of the action etc . People have cut the Surgeons for the AW & Stiller & Defiance & Bighorn make AW cuts to some of hteir actions . Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
