adriandavidb
I'm hoping somebody on here has experience of removing a TRG22 barrelled action from it's chassis . . . According to the manual that came with the rifle, this cannot be achieved without prior removal of the trigger assembly, however this requires extraction of an allen bolt which is accessed through a recess vertically upward through a hole in the trigger guard. The issue is that the safety catch is required to be in the rearward 'on' position for this to be carried-out, but with the safety in this position, access is obstructed by the pad of the safety catch. Access IS possible with the safety in the off (forward) position however, but presumably there is possibly a very good reason why the manual does not suggest this, so I'm reluctant to attempt it. The rifle I have is a recent one with the redesigned safety catch which has a larger pad, it's possible this would not have been an issue with the older design; maybe the manual was not updated. If there is a way of removing the pad from its lever-arm, I can't see it? I'd be grateful for any pointers Advance thanks . . .
Scotch_egg
From memory the main thing to avoid is removing the trigger with the bolt in place. Once the bolt has been removed the trigger can safely be removed.
