gbal Posted January 22, 2013 Report Share Posted January 22, 2013 Quite so-Heckler and Koch made similar velocity claims way back for polygonal rifling,but I don't recall many clear and fair tests,for above reasons,perhaps.Fewer rifling cuts would presumably increase velocity too-same issues!george .... and John Krieger,who does know a bit about barrel making, at the Shot Show hinted at the same arguement-in the context of a planned(?) 5 R with double angled lands,aligned opposite grooves,not other lands for improved gas seal,and thefore cleaner and more velocity.Why not-but it won't be a quantum leap improvement in velocity ! george Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
