I’m after a new rucksack, just for days out walking / hiking, probably looking around the 30l size, possibly a bit smaller, just to carry a waterproof, a couple of extra layers, butties, water bottle etc. Any recommendations? cheers and happy new year UKV

Ive been given a couple of tubs of N160 which I’ll use in my 6xc with 105g amax. looking on the web for starting loads and there seems a massive spread in powder weight charges for this powder, Vit suggest starting load of 31.6 and max 37.5 which seems extremely conservative when others are using 40-42g+ appreciate some may have been using coated bullets. if any of you have used this powder in 6xc with 105g bullets what would you suggest starting at?

There were a lot of trucks with banks of lights, enough lights to probably light up a small town! These were small lights like the lightforce 170 mounted through the roof with in cab handle control, mostly on hilux or land cruisers.

Quite possibly, they have some seriously impressive off roaders!

Recently spent a few days in Iceland, while driving around in the countryside I noticed numerous 4x4 trucks with remote controlled roof mounted lamps ( lightforce type) just wondered what they would use them for? On one of the tours we went on the guide said there was very little in the way of predators, just a few artic foxes, mink and white tailed eagles.

I’m after a new arca swiss compatible clamp for my tripod, I would prefer a lever clamp only because it’s a bit quicker than a screw up one. Any of you guys that shoot off a tripod what make / model would you recommend? Cheers

Any suggestions for a arca swiss rail for a McMillan a5 I think it is. The stock has got a good flat bottomed forend and I’d like it to be low fitting rail as possible. Probably around 12” in length, not too bothered if it’s longer than the stock. cheers

I’ve had a set of viper flex journey xl quad sticks for a few years now they’re getting a bit battered and bent so I thought I might buy a new set. I noticed they do a full carbon set now, just wondering if they’re worth spending the extra on?

Any recommendations for the above? It’s more for a thermal spotter than bino’s. Getting fed up with it clattering around my neck on a strap!

I’m thinking of swapping my original Remington stock on my .223 to a chassis system. Google search reveals a whole plethora of systems, just wondering what’s good and robust? Ideally I’d like it with a folding stock. Cheers

I don’t use an expander ball, just seems odd that it’s only 4 cases, could have been there from new and I’ve just not noticed it.

Pretty sure it’s not the decapping rod, I decap in a separate operation and from what I remember they all popped out fine, I’ve checked the rod and it isn’t bent. From what I can see the inside looks fine, I might cut one in half later and have a proper look. The cases have been 4 times fired so I doubt Lapua would be interested.

Never touch primer pockets other than cleaning carbon out. The flash hole size is an illusion, when they’re square on they’re the same. I think it’s happened under firing, odd how it’s just in 4 cases.

Preparing some 4 times fired 22br cases and noticed out of the 80 cases 4 seemed to have a primer pocket bulge, can’t say I’ve noticed it before, just wondering what’s caused it. Pressure(no other signs) manufacturing defect? The one on the left I’d consider normal, the righthand has the bulge.

Just had my certificates renewed and they came back with the accompanying letter. just wondering if it’s a Cheshire thing or all police forces asking for cartridges to be saved?

Sorting some stuff out in the loft and came across this old ST, interesting reading and printed long before snowflakes and googooders ran the world, in times when you could buy a new Merkel for £177 or a Browning semi auto for £82!

Getting to the end of my last tub of RS62 that I’ve been using up in my xc, just wondering what everyone uses in their xc these days and if there is a better powder than RS62 for it? Thanks
