6.5 creedmoor loads

Hi,

Would appreciate some info from those more knowledgeable than I. Shooting the Ruger RPR IN 6.5..

I have some berger target vld's in 120g and 140g weights.

I am using Lovex SO62 powder.

I know this is comparable with Accurate 4064 but cannot see loads for these bullets either on Berger, Accurate or Lovex.

I would appreciate any data offered. Including any info on COL and distance to lands etc.

Thanks in advance.

Nosler 140gr Custom Competition loaded to 2.764" with S062 gave me the following,

36gr - 2535fps

37gr - 2583fps

38gr - 2674fps

39gr - 2724fps

I settled on 37gr which gave me 1/2 MOA or less. It's not an ideal powder but it certainly works.

I've now switched to 35gr of Viht N150 for the 140gr Noslers and 41gr of N140 for the 100gr Scenars, I couldn't get more S062 at the price I got the first 5Kg (£30/Kg).

Thanks for the info, I use 38 grains for my 140 Lapua, was not sure if the VLD's needed anything specific, presume it's really the weight that determines the charge?

The weight is a good place to find a recommended minimum load to start with, different bullet profiles and lengths will affect the seating depth etc. which will in turn have an effect on the pressure being generated in the case.

The bullet manufacturers website will usually have load data based on testing of the particular bullet, this is based on the particular barrel/chamber the testing was done in so once again a good place to work up a load from starting at minimum.
