Foxpro Spitfire remote problems

Any one else had problems/faults develope with their remotes for the said caller?

Just had to return home as the remote seems to have developed a mind of its own, switching on and off as it pleases, muting/unmuting, changing track, and now just simply refuses to work!

Tried all the usual suspects, batteries, reprogrammed etc etc.

Can a replacement remote be source from anywhere?

Unit is about 2/3 years old.

Regards,

Its a sad state of affairs when we have to pack up and return home because of our gadgets failin. Its a big tut from me I'm afraid.

I too have an electronic caller, also have 1/2 a dozen mouth calls in pockets AND I have my hand, there's no way I would pack up.

I do hope though you get it sorted. I would miss mine, incidentally I used to use my mobile phone as back up.

Cheers for the info JB1,

Sat and waited for a hour to no avail using hand calls etc etc, but with free range hens been taken regular was sure the chicken in distress would of brought the problem fox in for his last supper.... Also up at 4am for work so was hoping to sort the fox out pretty quick, he'll wait for another night!

Mine used to do it Mate. Would press volume up or down and it would mute it, or tried pressing pause and it would turn volume up!!! Just lived with it, as it was very random.

Sold, unit now mind. Will deffo buy another fox pro at some point.

Can't say I'm overly impressed with mine either..

The range you can set it out seems to vary. .. can never get past s 100yd with it an sometimes I have to break cover to walk in on it to get the remote communicating again

That's because the ground is interfering with the signal - this loss is especially bad when the caller is located in wet grass. In the instructions, FoxPro themselves say that the caller should ideally be placed in a tree or some other place up in the air. I've added a short length of fishing rod to mine, and have another section cut to the size of my pocket - the two then fit together when needed. It's not a perfect arrangement, but at least it gets the caller up a bit higher, and missed instructions from the remote are dramatically reduced.
