Hmr is our go to rifle for nv bunny bashing. It fits in nicely between .22rf, .17 fb and .223. Still  a few duff rounds out there as my mate extricated a bullet from the  beginning of the rifling the other week. Probably old stock. 

I think parts of Essex have been hit by the vhd over the last couple of years. Certainly some of my shoots have been decimated and they are not over shot.

I've had some success with fenn traps in confined areas, though mind your fingers if your new to using them. Our tabby cat makes short work of any hard core rats that I've missed with the nv/air around the chicken run.

On one of my shoots a wood and pasture, the numbers I took suddenly dropped about 60%. That was three years ago. It's not improved since. On a mates shoot about 10 miles away the numbers are down too the last couple of years. Mixy hits annually but that always did so there has to be another reason.

Is that to do with the coating?

Is that the same with centre fires too?

Once you have sorted out the likely contenders, its a good idea to put a box of each through it to see if the groups tighten up. I was testing a few years ago with my semi for a better round. As I put a box of rws hp through it you could see the groups visibly shrink as I emptied a box through it.

If you look over the forums historically, most cz's .22lrs like either eley or Winchester.

As above use a dusting of diatomaceous earth in the hen house to keep the red mite at bay. We had an out break of red mite a few years ago when we came back off hols. They laughed at quaternary disinfectants, but the diatomaceous earth sorted it in a week or so. Rats kept down with hw100+nv and a keen ratting cat. If your getting no shell eggs, then add ground oyster shell to their diet.
