  1. Selling my Tikka Tac A1 as it is a safe queen. Selling as package and asking £3,250:

Rifle: Tikka Tac A1, 223 (24 inch barrel), 5/8x24, 1:8 twist,  Folding Stock model, round count: circa 200. Comes with original (battered) box and ancillaries like muzzle brake (never used), LOP spacers.
Silencer: Stalon (not sure of the model but comes with original box which includes some ancillaries still in packaging)
Bipod: Tier 1 Tactical in carbon fibre. - 180mm (Cant and Pan). Comes with 3 different feet plus "extenders" if additional height is required. Comes with original box. Excellent condition - used twice.
Scope: Kahles K624i (generation 3). CW, MRAD, RHW. Mil3 reticle (small mark on top of elevation turret - see photo) . Serviced by Kahles circa 12 months ago.

New price for all of above is around £5,000.
No chancers please - this is a fair price for a nearly new rifle.

Can be viewed at Bisley by arrangement.

  2. I bought a SEB Joypod (2nd gen with the moving skis) about a year ago (after waiting 10 months!) and am now finding that it rocks backwards and forwards (in the direction of shooting). This results in vertical spread on the target.

The plate which attaches to the pic rail on the rifle is solid but it appears to be the sub-assembly below which is no longer stationary and has quite a bit of play (in the direction of shooting).

There does not appear to be anything external which could be tightened so I assume it is an internal issue of some kind.

Does anyone else have the issue or, more importantly , know how to fix the issue?

    THanks.

  3. If it adds to the discussion attached link from Precision Rifle Blog shows what the top PRS shooters in the US prefer:

Best Scope – What The Pros Use - PrecisionRifleBlog.com

For those using either the Kahles K525 or S&B 5-25 the Kahles was almost 2:1 ahead of the Schmidt.

Personally have a K525 and cannot complain. On the basis that differences in perceived optical performance are likely to be entirely subjective for top scopes, I chose Kahles for the left hand windage and fully ambidextrous parallax adjustment (which, for those who don't know, is just below the elevation turret i.e. on top).

  4. The 2 unfortunate owners were apparently both adamant that they had religiously cleaned their barrels - so it was not a cleaning issue if that is to be believed. Also appears other people on this thread have had similar recent issues with low round count Tikka barrels. I've not seen this before on the forums, so appears to be relatively recent issue.

  5. Whilst recently speaking to my gunsmith he advised he'd had 2 people recently requiring new barrels for their 308 Tac A1's.

Both apparently only had about 800 rounds through them and despite (allegedly) religious cleaning had significant pitting (requiring new barrels).

Might this be a batch problem with some Tikka 308 barrels?
