I have a Savage in a Dolphin stock. A pal has loaned my a Shooting Shed bipod so I need to buy a back bag. Although I can pester the lads on the range to try theirs what factors do I need to consider in terms of sizing? Looking at the Dolphin stock I've got a lot of latitude when it comes to adjusting the back plate; does that mean I can just buy any bag?
TIA

I'm working on a .223 Savage for casual F/TR up to 600 yards. I have a Dolphin Modular Stock on the way and so my last purchases will be a bi-pod and a back bag. In normal times I'd ask the guys at the Club but that's rather tricky with Covid restrictions on the numbers at the range. Could I ask for your advice please. Weight isn't a big worry as I just shoot for pleasure (recoil therapy as my pal calls it).
TIA

Ignore the above. Looks like I didn't get the full instructions so I've downloaded a set. Thanks.

My new Stryker has arrived but I can't find any instructions for how to fit the battery for the illuminated reticle? Can anyone advise. Its the Target Ultra 5-50x56 HD SFP.

And the cartridge length?
Peter,
If you mean COAL then I can't say at the moment. I have an OAL tool but am having some cartridges drilled to fit. If its just the cartridge then its a standard .223 Rem from Lapua - I've included that in the 27 inches for the barrel. Sorry if this isn't what you meant.

When you've decided on a powder and you have a cartridge overall length, post them and I'll run QL for you.
FWIW, I use RS52 with 73 and 80 grain bullets. What length is your barrel?
Pete
Pete,
Its 27 inches.

Gordons reloading tool, seems a bit daunting at first but worth playing around with, few tutorials on youtube on how to use it
Thank you.

I've had a 1 in 7 twist barrel put on my Savage .223 and now that we are coming out of lockdown I want to start to work on loads. I'm struggling a bit to find the load data for a faster twist barrel to help me determine a safe starting point. I'm going to start with some 77 grain Lapua bullets but Lapua only provide data for a 1 in 12 twist. TIA Watcher
