  1. I bought a new CZ527 17 Hornet thumbhole 24" last April. No cycling issues, but the spring in the magazine was very stiff and getting a fifth round loaded was very difficult. I made sure the magazine was fully loaded when not in use and, after a few months, it became possible to load that fifth round by hand. Love the rifle and the calibre.

  2. Awaiting delivery of a CZ527 17 Hornet and am taking the opportunity to research possible powders/loads. I have some Lil'gun that I used (very successfully) in my 22 Hornet, however a number of articles suggest it doesn't suit the 17. Others suggest it is fine, but not in the recommended Hodgton loads. The latter are 9.7-10gr, but some folk are experiencing pressure signs when using loads above 9.4gr. I'm interested to know if anyone has found reduced loads from say 9-9.4gr ok?
