  1. Nah, doesn't cut it for me, I tried that and found as they drop out the machine drops of water go everywhere, and leave watermarks on the brass.......OCD much....

When it comes to brass, nothing looks better than wet tumbled, freshly annealed brass though....

This sounds like a case (ha ha get it) of a much needed photo.

  2. Yes I am very interested in this tool also, how did you get on, performance wise etc.

Did or are you able to measure and performance and drop in bullet BC, I know they have a crap BC anyway but for dialing in out to say 140 yards it would make a difference.

    Keen to here.

  3. My EDC is very basic, it's my Spyderco Endura 4 knife. It mainly lives in my truck tbh as anywhere I may need it ill be in my truck anyway. I sharpen in on the one and only Wicked edge as and when it needs it, which is not very often tbh if you look after your edge.

  4. I like this a lot...

My aim is for distance & I have a .223

Currently only a 1in9 twist, but I hope to rectify that at some point.

How do you rate the AI over the regular .223?

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

The .223 AI over the standard .223.....

You do get more ftps out of them, they run higher chamber pressures but with next to no case stretching at all. Apparently they are also easier on the throats as well?

With a slow twist barrel like a 1/12, you can get the 40 grain bullets north of 3900ftps, 55 grainers around 3700ftps which is ideal for a fast flat shooting vermin rifle.

If you go with a fast twist like mine,1/7 I wanted to shoot the High BC 80 grain AMax's. (0.48 at 3000 ftps and an average of 0.455) I'm push them out at 2960ftps, I can get them higher but 2960 is where the .2' groups are. And with high BC bullets, chasing speed is not needed.

I was smashing 6 inch gongs today in the wind at 560 yards for fun.

Pm me the details on your load see if we can help each other out chum and so we don't hi- jack this trend.

  5. This is my latest toy. It a tikka T3 action with a 1-7 twist Tru flite barrel finished at 26 inches threaded and spiggoted with an ASE UTRA MOD in .223 Ackley Improved.

Designed purposely to shoot the 80 Bergers and 80 grain AMax bullets for long range targets and vermin.

in the early stages of load development ATM but shooting in the .2's and .3's :-).

Very very happy and super accurate.

  6. I got this one last month http://www.heinnie.com/Knives/ESEE-Knives/RAT-Cutlery-RC-4-Desert-Tan/p-92-421-4505/

Its a very very good knife, it came razor sharp, I have skinned quite a few rabbits, de-breasted and legged loads and loads of Pheasants etc and it has maintained 100% of its edge, never needed to oil it.

There are YouTube videos of people cutting logs with them and chiseling bricks with the them and it still maintains its edge. Plus this/these knifes come with a no questions asked full life time replacement warranty.

    Steve.
