Twoseventy
Good afternoon all, We've currently got a 6kw solar system on the house along with a 6kw battery. Works great unless there is a power cut, in which case it switches off. Has anyone worked out a simple way of reinstating power from solar during a power cut? Do the systems provided have the option to run as stand alone? I appreciate the main supply would need to be isolated from the house system to ensure anyone working on the lines didn't get a surprise, or we inadvertently end up powering the local neighborhood for all of 2 minutes... It's not difficult, you want an 'island' set up. It will cost you and needs proper engineering (I'm an electrical engineer) to avoid a dangerous (and unlawful) situation, as you mentioned. I strongly recommend you consult a specialist.
