Richard.S
Morning, Considering a new scale but don’t have the budget to order an auto trickler immediately. Does/has anyone used one as a standalone scale with a hand trickler? Is it’s simple as using it as you would a regular scale / can it be used without the guard? cheers, Richard
No i deer
I use that same scale.. Use the powder thrower too throw within 0.5grs and trickle the rest with my finger tips.. I'm ok with doing it like that..
Richard.S
Thanks for the reply. Do you use the wind guard? / is it a pain to use manually?

Easy enough to Dremel a ‘hole’ in the wind guard to allow the spout of a trickle to pass thru’ but I try to keep the powder cup central so would depend on the trickled you are using if it will reach? cannot see a reason not to use the wind guard T
Leeman
Richard, Photo of my set up. Right hand guard removed, trickler sat on top with funnel through hole into long handled kitchen measuring cup. Works perfectly
T65
Same here. Just take the left or right guard out. Never had problem.

Richiew
This is my set up , still slow but very accurate. Would a version 4 be worth the expense ????

Nick 53
Thanks for the photos I’ve often wondered how the trickler was set up
Catch-22
When making .44mag loads, I loose the Autothrow off the top of the A&D scale and simply use the Autotrickler unit. I actually do a small manual scoop of powder (shotgun), dump into a metal cup, place on scale, wait for Autotrickler to finish, dump powder into case. Ive done it before using a Redding manual trickler and the A&D scale. Works fine.
