New ATX CHASSIS

Hi all 

Has anyone bought a new AI ATX chassis and put a tikka action in it yet . Looking at the pictures do you need to remove the stock to clean the rifle if you ve bought the non folder . I’d very much like an atx chassis but if it s going to be a pita I’ll not bother .

You would only need to remove the cheek riser and maybe loosen off the butt pad, which I suppose is a pain (you would need to set your specific height again). I’m not sure if you could just change the cap screws for knurled screws like the AT. Have a look at YouTube. The price looks reasonable though so maybe just budget in for the hinge is the best option.

It would be very helpful if AI sold the chassis : rifle with the hinge as it’s a pain to remove the butt pad to clean the barrel

£206 for a hinge . Watched the video and notice a scooped out area at top of rear butt pad is this to allow use of a cleaning rod if the cheek piece has been removed and butt pad lowered or canted??? .

AI don't make Tikka-specific chassis...I'd love to be proved wrong though if anyone knows otherwise!

There's a guy on Sniper's Hide who has "done it", but quite a lot of work was involved. See here.
