Arca style shooting tripods

Depends on what you want. RPA do / did a rola-tube tripod - very compact and simple design ( not camera based) that cost about £1200. Not fast to deploy and height adjustment was by spreading the legs more or less.

Otherwise camera based RRS or Gitzo traveler series are good (I use Gitzo). Carbon fibre and fold over legs are important features to me. It’s always going to be a compromise but I was hitting half IPSC steels at 1km from standing with this. 044A4550-B6DB-4C0D-8216-9A2581F4F0F4.thumb.jpeg.b200e819bcba007afa9f520cb6ba44e7.jpeg

Tip: adds a QD stabilising strap to the forearm and tripod and now it is a lot more stable.

That’s a smart set up. I want something more on a Telescopic style that I could carry around. Are they solid enough to take accurate precise long range shots. Might like it to take deer stalking also (in stationary ambush situation) with a 360 degree ball head

notice Area 419 do a few. How to they fair up? I’m very new to this style of shooting & just looking for a more versatile system than a bipod

Look for a large ball friction head around 52mm but no less than 44mm .....  I've used a Sunwayfoto FB52-GNN with an Innorel RT90C for almost a year now and i was really sceptical about ' Made in China ' but i can't fault this at all .

Try to avoid tripods with a centre column .... Make sure the tripod has enough height without .

Google the Innorel brand, I have an RT90 C it is Ideal for my needs, very strong 40kg payload, they do others in the Range that are lighter, its very well built and a lot cheaper than the Rekon brand. I researched this for a long time before buying one, its the only one where you can put the cross hairs on something twist the lock up handle and the crosshair stays where you put it, most of the others I tried have some form of droop, not a deal breaker but just as well be steady as you can.
