Hey guys, new kid on the block! 
I shoot 7saum and are starting to shoot with Sierra 175s and Berger 184 F-open Hybrids. I want to try          IMR-4831 (not H-4831). Anyone have experience here?

There's alot of f open shooters on here and they'd of tried most of the powders suitable. I know quite a few of them and I've not heard of anybody using IMR 4831 but that's not to say their not..

If somebody found something that had an edge they would keep quiet 🙃

It would work but you would more than likely hit pressure before you got to a reasonable and competitive speed. A few years ago I tested it in a .284 Win and while accuracy was fantastic I couldn't get to a sensible velocity for serious competition, 2770 fps.

Another problem to take into account is that IMR powders aren't known for being particularly temperature stable.

Thanks guys. My hunting 7mm saum loves RL-19. I’ve found the load and don’t toy with it. The new one is my latest build, 30” Bartlein Palma on 700 long action. That’s the one I’m working with. The gun will out shoot me that’s for sure! No where local to compete, we just like shooting!

Hi I have started using RS76 in my 7 SAUM. It has low SD together with KVB7 primers and 180 gr bullets, the case is full with an margin to high pressure and reaches 1050 fps from a 28" /8.5" Krieger 4R barrel in a T3. The load is a "I dont care about the barrel wear" for +900 y but my sneak load is with VV165 at 2800 fps. My gunsmith uses VV565 but this year, my gun shot better.
