beanieboy Posted March 11, 2021 Report Share Posted March 11, 2021 Awaiting delivery of a CZ527 17 Hornet and am taking the opportunity to research possible powders/loads. I have some Lil'gun that I used (very successfully) in my 22 Hornet, however a number of articles suggest it doesn't suit the 17. Others suggest it is fine, but not in the recommended Hodgton loads. The latter are 9.7-10gr, but some folk are experiencing pressure signs when using loads above 9.4gr. I'm interested to know if anyone has found reduced loads from say 9-9.4gr ok? Remmy308 Posted February 13, 2022 Report Share Posted February 13, 2022 I found lilgun a little hot for the .17 hornet,like you said it was perfect in the .22 hornet.! I’ve been using IMR 4227 For the past 4 years but not sure if it’s availability these days as I don’t think it’s reach compliance.!
