geek
Usual disclaimer rules apply, i.e. this works in my rifle (Remington 700 SPS with 20 inch barrel (1 in 9 twist), Triggertech trigger (1.5lb) and MDT stock ). I use 69gr Sierra Matchking, Lapua brass and 25grs of Vihtavuori N140 and shoot out out to 600 yards, velocity at barrel is 2811ft/s (average). For comparison (using Vihtavuori N140 (measured using my chronograph): 24grs = 2683ft/s, 24.5grs = 2758ft/s and 25.5grs = 2847ft/s A couple of images from the load development and a 600 yard benchrest competition (using a bipod). As can be seen the average velocity for 5 shots at 600yards at the target was 1421ft/s. There is someone at Diggle who used a Remington 700 .223 (AI chassis) to shoot the 1000yard benchrest competition (factory class) last year and won their class on the day.
