T3 6.5x47 Left Handed

Recommended Posts

The T3 arrived to me as a 308 in FDE, customer requesting a 6.5x47 makeover.

The barrelled action stripped down, cleaned and lugs lapped lightly.

No other work required on the action as it was good

The customer supplied the barrel - which had been advertised here (I think), a Sassen 8.5 twist with spiral fluting.

The barrel was oversize for the T3 action (it was a 1.250" diameter which was turned down to 1.150" at the shank) and then tenon turned, threaded and chambered in 6.5x47 min SAAMI spec.

Finished at 24" and threaded M18x1mm with protective cap

The bolt was sent for fluting at Dane Precision (thanks Paddy) as I am not set up for such machining proceedure

Once proofed, the barrelled action and supplied 20 MOA picatinny taken to Liquid Steel Design where a coating of Black was applied to the bolt and burnt Bronze to the barrelled action and rail.

Geoff turned the coating around in 24 hrs for me and did a super job (as always)

I bonded the rail to the action with a suitable adhesive

Sterke Bolt Handle

The customer collected the barrelled action and fitted it themselves to a MDT chassis - initial load development image sent today after fitting the stock and scope.

I like the contrasting colour and results
