Curious whether the AICS  300wsm is short action mag..

I guess it wouldn't fit in the place of a 300 win mag as its quite long..

I had to build the back of the 300 win mag out to suit the length of 7mm saum.

The WSM mags are short action as you would use for RSAUM or PRC assuming it is loaded to under about 3.000"

You can use it in a long action may the same as you mention assuming your chassis and action is designed for that too, but it might not be ideal.

The oal of my saum loaded with 184gr hybrids is about 3.150 I think.

Way too long for a short action magazine then

You just need to do your legwork and measure to see what fits - the specs are on the manufacturers websites!
