martin_b
Ive got hold of a new MDF bench that Im going to use as my reloading center. Should I treat it with anything (Wax, Oil?)before I start using it?
miki
Should be fine as is... MDF absorbs water readily but that's not common on a reloading bench. If you want seal it you could 'wash' it with a 50/50 PVA (wood glue) and water solution. That way if you knock your tea over it'll not soak in

Kalahari
I would be tempted to varnish the MDF all over with one of the varnishes made for floors. Very tough and water resistant. If you are worried about the surface being over smooth and not gripping your bipod sprinkle a little sand onto the wet second coat. (Practice the sprinkling trick in advance, when I did something similar I used a cheap tea strainer but just shaking it off a piece of flat ply might work) Best wishes, David.
