Case in point, I also 'wipe out the barrel, dry chamber etc., before use, normally the night before, with alcohol & patch dry. 

This gives a pretty good starting point, here is the first target shot after lock down reopening of ranges, from a very clean barrel, 1000 yards (been posted elsewhere but relevant):

So 'minute of deer' should not be an issue? 😉
