ejg223
Hi Col, think your'e right with 1 in 11, my sako built in the sixties already had 1 in 11. 308 wouldn't be too sensitive. 150 -180gr. would do My favourite factory ammo for grouping and sika is lapua mega in 150gr and fusion 150gr although the last fusion batch I got don't group worth beans. Last years batch grouped 0.75" at 200.?? edi
stag1933
Hi Col. I have a Sako .308 Varminter Mod.75 which is 1 in 11 twist. 150 grain would be my choice of bullet weight for general purpose use although mine was a one-holer with 130grain Speer hollow point re-loads which I used for Varmints before I got my .243 Sako Varminter. Did you get the info I sent you as my E.Mail etc. has been on the blink ? HWH.

Guest 308Panther
Your gonna have to play abit and find out wich ammo brand and bullet weight it likes the best. Especially if the rifle was picked up second hand. The tables I looked at pretty much confirmed what every one else said about the 1 in 11 handling anything from 150-180 gr bullets. There is plenty of differant options in each brand to choose from too.and price ranges... Here a guy can spend anywhere from $14/box up to $57/box... I just found a Farm and Barn that had 150gr SP Rem on the shelf for $14/box....I was in there for somethin totally differant...But needless to say...I took home 5 boxes...and plan on goin back for more since its got Wal Mart beat by $2/box....for the same thing....150gr RemSP 308Panther
nuttyspaniel
My old 308 wasnt a sako, but I found prvi partizan 150grn was absolute brill in it. And being cheap as well wont break the bank if the rifle doesnt shoot them well!
