Borden Alpine 6.5x47 Lapua

Recommended Posts

6.5 x 47 Lapua build for a very good returning customer whishing to replace their tired Rem 700 with something a little more special - the rem went on to be a XXedmore but thats another story.

Spec is as follows:

Used Borden Alpine repeater action (.473" bolt face) one of the earlier Alpines with a slightly reduced ejection port making it a very strong action.

Barrel is a GB Cut - 8 twist profile Med Palma and finished at 24" with M18x1mm thread

Atlas Works bottom metal

Trigger - Jackson / CG unit - simply superb

Stock I think is a Mcmillan A3/5 - it was provided by the customer, which purchased it as new from someone who had "bedded it" and made frankly a complete arxe of it.

The barrelled action has been coated in Matt Black Ceracoat by Liquid Steel Design

Barrelled action and bottom metal pillar bedded using Devcon

Action topped off with Farrell 20 MOA rail

Trigger release at second stage is 1lb and perfect

Some images of the build and finished product

I anticipate accuracy to be "adequate" (which one hopes will be single hole)

I can confirm it’s new owner is delighted with how this project has turned out. Just on with case prep and initial loads so will post the results!

I’m certain it will shoot adequately and await the owners results eagerly, though understand current restrictions may delay that
