Strelock

I use "Shooter" and I have used various others.  They all do a job, but at the end of the day, real-world data is the best.  I have tabulated data from various ranges (such as Eskdalemuir) for my loads and I can use that to dial in out to 2000yds with reasonable accuracy.  I know nobody that can turn up, calculate with an app and shoot a first shot 'V' at >=1000yds.

The biggest problem to my mind is that G1 or G7 BC profiles are by definition imperfect representations of actual drag.  I've used so-called Doppler RADAR curves and they were only marginally different to good-old G7.

Hi all

happy with StrelokPro but it is very sensitive to input info , everything has to be good info . Barometric pressure and bullet speed make huge difference at a 1000 yards enough to be a full mil out for a 40 millibar error or the same if you’ve got your bullet speed wrong by 100 FPS . Tested at eskdalemuir and ok to 800 yds for repeat visits using 175 Berger s in 308 . Did a quick check at 300 yds and had nice small groups so was confident for our local club Christmas shoot at 300 y . Was surprised to be so far out on the f- class target had to come down 0.3 mil to be in the centre . Similar temps baro press etc . Didn’t clean barrel from last session tho . Other friends using StrelokPro with 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 have similar results . Everything helps but it won’t do first shot hits at over 800 yards for my equipment . Think I’m expecting too much from the 308  . Cheers
