furrybean
Just thinking while getting on with some work... What, in practical or usability terms, is the difference between these two actions for a .308 build? I know the Rimrock is built to finer tolerances but is it worth the extra £££
baldie
The Rimrock is externally ground to be parallel with the bore. The alpine is turned. In shooting terms ....sod all. They will both shoot the same. £200 price difference.
Ronin
If youre building a single shot target (F Class, Benchrest, Palma rifle) then id choose the Rimrock. If youre looking for multi shot capabaility then an Alpine or Timberline. I really like the Bordens in any guise
furrybean
Cheers guys. I'm really comparing the single shot in both for .308. What is the difference between the two ground and turned, is it cosmetic, ergonomic, better functionality or pedantry? Lol
baldie
Pedantry. I,m pretty certain I have a .308BF single shot alpine in stock, if you want a look at one.
