UKBRA Benchrest Round 2 – 30th April 2016

This weekend saw round 2 of the UKBRA 100 and 1000 yard leagues at Diggle ranges.

100 yards - Saturday

An interesting day weather-wise, we had everything from glorious sunshine to thunder and hail………. One might say a very typical day at Diggle.

The weather must have been having some fun with our IT systems as well as we had to resort to “Pen and Paper” at the start for scoring as the miracles of Microsoft decided they wanted to “mess with the scoring computer”, but thankfully all was resolved.

Just as per last month there were some very nice groups, with several in the 1’s and a large number consistently in the 2’s. Special mentions to….. Jonathan Walker with a 0.162”, Chris Maunder with a 0.1942 and a 0.145” & finally I managed two groups in the ones a 0.172” and a 0.125” for the small group.

The Sporter Class guys and gals were going for it as well with some very nice groups, Emily Lenton with her new rifle shot and impressive 0.292” group, but was pipped by Jack Mills for small group with a very creditable 0.267”, well done to you both.

Good job Andy Woolley was along today, as Darrel Evans didn’t win (no petrol money today Darrel), so he got a free lift to and from home…….. Thanks to Andy’s Taxi’s J

Stuart Benson (The Shooting God) was back on form, with his bog standard Savage 6BR, with a very creditable 0.430” agg, well done Stuart.

There were a 6 people shooting aggs in the 2’s today and the top 5 places changed several times during the day, a great day’s shooting was had by all.

Here are the results……….

Heavy Varmint

1. – Bruce Lenton – 0.2220” (average of 5 x 5 shot groups)

2. – Vince Bottomley – 0.2326”

3. – Chris Maunder – 0.2614”

Small Group – Bruce Lenton – 0.125”

Sporter

1. – Stuart Benson – 0.4300” (average of 5 x 5 shot groups)

2. – Jack Mills – 0.5250”

3. – Emily Lenton – 0.5566”
