Very good - what a shame about the all the spelling errors - that will be all the tweed brigade will notice if they watch it, and will be seen as confirming many of their negative views. Needs a corrected re-cut to punch properly.

He knows about the typos, but he's ex-Army, so what do you expect?

Anyway Yardley has already seen it and is not a happy bunny....which is nice :-)

On his Facebook page, someone posted a picture of one of those nasty black rifles. You can tell that the shooter is hating the whole experience. He does look a little familiar though.....

He's also an ex gunner!

Who? Yardley? No. He claims to have been Cav.

Here's something odd I've noticed.

Everyone - EVERYONE - who commissions at Sandhurst is 'gazetted' - that is, they have their commission confirmed in the London Gazette.

Yardley claims to have done RMAS around 1974-1975 and to have been cavalry (that is, either part of the 'Household Cavalry' or the 'Royal Armoured Corps')

Try googling, for example, '1975 gazette sandhurst phillips'

and you'll see a chap called Phillips come up under Royal Armoured Corps:

Try any combination of '197X gazette sandhurst yardley'

...........I may be being thick, but I can spot him nowhere.

PS - the London Gazette is searchable directly here: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/

Even directly, I can spot no record of Yardley commissioning at any time in the 70s. I may well be just missing his name. But, if not: How odd.

Couldn't say he's not there for certain - but I can't spot him via either google or the gazette's own search engine.

Everyone who's commissioned is there..EVERYONE.... no exceptions for SF etc

eg Mike Rose, later CO 22 SAS for the Iranian Embassy:

This is supposed to be 1975 according to his accompanying comments on his FB page, shame the registration is hidden. Reckons the Range Rover was 2.5k when he bought it from NAAFI.

Mick, it's this photo that piqued my interest .........as a self-publicist, he has selfies of everything he's done; but pics of anything Army post-Sandhurst seem remarkably thin on the ground (the pic shows him in the uniform of either an officer cadet or student officer at RMAS) - led me to wonder if he actually completed the course - hence my gazette digging.

I can't find him - anyone else any luck?
