mole-e30
UKBRA Benchrest Round 1 – 4th October 2015 Sunday saw round 1 of the UKBRA 600 yard league at Diggle ranges. Another great day weather-wise at Diggle, we are carrying on from where we left off with the last 1000 yard shoot! More sun and a very light breeze, time to test out those 600 yard loads. We were a few down in numbers today as the UKBRA Teams had only just arrived back from the recent world championships (some are still out there), so with this in mind some of us had equipment in transit or family duties to attend. However we appear to be getting some more of these F class shooters defecting to our ranks…... Some great groups were shot today, 5 one inch groups and 13 2 inch groups, remember at 600 yard everyone shoots 5 shot groups, including the heavy guns. We had a fairly even split today for Light Guns and Heavy Guns, 13 versus 10 and some people had some shiny new kit too. Jonathan Walker was having a great day in Heavy Gun, obviously spurred on by his WBC efforts in St. Louis and Jeanette Whitney was also having small group day in Light Gun. The Heavy Guns seemed to be shining today with some stunning results, Simon Drake was on for a new UK record until a slight mishap, young Emily was again showing me how to do it with my own rifle, keep it up kiddo! Anyway, without further ado, here are the results Light Gun 1. – Jeanette Whitney – 2.727” (average of 4 x 5 shot groups) 2. – Vince Bottomley – 3.302” 3. – Mal Roberts – 4.192” Small Group – Jeanette Whitney – 1.635” Heavy Gun 1. – Jonathan Walker – 2.815” (average of 4 x 5 shot groups) 2. – Jane Lowe – 3.505” 3. – Les Prior – 3.975” Small Group – Simon Drake – 1.888” Factory Sporter 1. – Darrel Evans – 3.161” (average of 4 x 5 shot groups) 2. – Steve Barrow – 10.469” Small Group – Darrel Evans – 1.998” Full results can be seen by clicking the link below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8dzszd20cwgrcao/UKBRA%20600BR%204th%20October%202015.pdf?dl=0 Next shoot is the new Winter 100 Yard League on Saturday 14th November followed by 600 yards on Sunday 15th November, as ever turn up, have fun and enjoy the banter.
