mole-e30
Hi Folks Another great day at Diggle yesterday, even though the weather was somewhat less than pleasant. 16 brave souls gathered in a monsoon to shoot benchrest, the only saving grace was that we were not shooting F Class as otherwise we would have been completely soaked. It was wild, windy and wet, but we all had fun and we even got some sunshine in the afternoon, before the thunder and lightening appeared. Somewhat different to the conditions we encountered at the European championships, but just as testing in some ways. We had a rare head/tailwind on A range, which lead to some rather interesting groups. There were also some very small groups, Brian Walker stole the show with a superb 0.110" group in some testing conditions, well done Brian! So to the results Heavy Varmint 1. Bruce Lenton - 0.256" (average of 5 x 5 shot groups) 2. Darrell Evans - 0.289" 3. Vince Bottomley - 0.304" Small Group – Brian Walker - 0.110" Sporter 1. Jack Mills - 0.700" 2. Martyn Shewring - 1.019" 3. Mary Marsden - 1.247" Small Group – Mary Marsden - 0.393" As usual the full results can be seen in the link below. https://www.dropbox.com/s/smbgytt5xkaq6f2/UKBRA%20100BR%2019th%20July%202014.pdf The league has now had 4 out of 6 shoots, with the best 4 to count, so here are the league standings including the 1st 4 shoots. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4bj9mg4whr8a37f/UKBRA%20100BR%20League%202014%20%284%20out%20of%206%29.pdf The next shoot is Saturday 19th July, hope to see you all there. Laurie
Great groups considering it was a horrible day on Diggle. (Those of us 'Effing' up on C-Range shot from the covered 600yd point, but the rain still blew in!) At least the forecast thunderstorms failed to appear or it might have been roasted BR/F-Class competitor. My trip home was via a 'scenic route' as the M62 was closed in West Yorskhire after multiple accidents in the bad weather.
