Recommended Posts

Hi Guys ,

Here's some pics of the Field Density Altitude Calculators , they are basically plastic slide rule type drop charts , in std Mil cals & velocitys etc .

3 models available

308 meters ( 100-1000 ) moa & mrad

308 Yards ( 100-1000 ) moa & mrad

XR 300WM & 338LM ( 100-1500 ) meters / mrad

So if you are using one of the above cals , and 308 & 175gr SMK , or 300WM & 190 & 220gr SMK , or 338LM & 250-300gr Scenar

More info go to website www.actsvirginia.com

They have multiple slides , and there should be one thats close to your actual velocity etc .

SO to use , select the right cal & bullet & velocity slide they come with several slides ,once you have done that , you need know only 2 things the actual temp & elevation of the land you are standing on , those 2 bits will get you the correct DA ( density Alitude ) , then slide the insert to the correct DA , and read off the drop .

I have been using the 308 version for quite a while now , and only just got the XR model .

The red data is showing when it goes subsonic .

Later Chris
