ChrisF Posted January 4, 2013 Report Share Posted January 4, 2013 Hi Guys , Here's some pics of the Field Density Altitude Calculators , they are basically plastic slide rule type drop charts , in std Mil cals & velocitys etc . 3 models available 308 meters ( 100-1000 ) moa & mrad 308 Yards ( 100-1000 ) moa & mrad XR 300WM & 338LM ( 100-1500 ) meters / mrad So if you are using one of the above cals , and 308 & 175gr SMK , or 300WM & 190 & 220gr SMK , or 338LM & 250-300gr Scenar More info go to website www.actsvirginia.com They have multiple slides , and there should be one thats close to your actual velocity etc . ChrisF Posted January 4, 2013 Author Report Share Posted January 4, 2013 SO to use , select the right cal & bullet & velocity slide they come with several slides ,once you have done that , you need know only 2 things the actual temp & elevation of the land you are standing on , those 2 bits will get you the correct DA ( density Alitude ) , then slide the insert to the correct DA , and read off the drop . I have been using the 308 version for quite a while now , and only just got the XR model . The red data is showing when it goes subsonic .
