I expect (know for a fact) he got sick of people ( certain people) fishing for info to throw mud at me with. He just wants to get on and enjoy using his new rifle and thats what the rifle was built for, for him to enjoy using it. ( I asked his permission before writing that by the way).

Yes he waited too long for it. No i couldn't get it done any sooner. Yes he's happy with it, Does its shoot?? you bet, and Yes

now i'm fulltime things will turn around much more quickly.

But will the backstabbing end?? I doubt it.

Pity the thread was removed.

I bet some would have been interested in reading about results

and the performance of that rifle.

So Pete, it was your fault again...

now that's the second roedale rifle booted out of report here..

pity

We being customers or possible customers would like to decide on our

own who we trust to build our toy. We might not be sensitive to some

rifle builders lets say weak points. In your case (Roedale) the only negative

aspect that I heard of was late delivery. No cribs on quality or price.

My experience on my first semi custom job was: quotes from several

rifle builders. Not knowing who do you choose?? The one who is friendliest,

best price, best promise in quality, shortest delivery time. Ended up with roedale.

Ok delivery time was longer than promised (still shorter than the other quotes)

Quality was better than expected, price was as agreed, pleasantly surprised by things done

that where neither quoted nor charged.

Pity we didn't hear a positive or negative report from sako

thanks to some we might never know

it seems 99 % of the time people focus on the bad rather than the good, personally I wouldnt care how long I have to wait as long as it was perfect when I got it.

Right, lets put this straight right now.

I deleted the post, AT SAKO,S REQUEST, is it big enough, can you all bloody read it?

I really wish he hadn,t asked me as a moderator, because its no secret the firm i contract to, has problems with Roedale. Thats not for discussion here.If sako doesn,t want to comment on his gun, thats up to him, DO NOT accuse me, or any other of the mods from suppressing information on here, Edi. It isn,t happening. If anyone wants to feature a roedale rifle, then fine , get them up, guns are guns, i really dont give a that which promotes growth and vigour.

Baldie,

in no way did I intend to accuse especially you of the

disapearance of those two threads. It was purely observation.

Just the same as I and possibly others would be disappointed if

any interesting thread would be gone for whatever reason.

Didn't think of you or any other moderator on here when I posted

that. Just I don't think it is right for members to be possibly bullied out

of posting. Which might have been the case. And I'm sure

it was out of your control.

Hi Pete,

Glad to hear that you are full time now, the best of luck with the new venture.

I am getting on very well with the flashdot scope, 3 foxes the other evening.

I will have to do a bit of saving first, but will give you a call when I'm ready for the next one (hopefully in the new year).

Baldy. I didn't bthink for a minute that there was any thing odd about you deleting the post ok, just so thats straight.

Its not realy of issue for the lads on here, but ive nowt too hide, the 2 6.5x55's for SYSS are going to the courier tommorow. Ive been full time 4 weeks. 2 of those have been spent handing over appartments and tying up loos ends, 2 have been in the workshop. Ive completed 11 rifles in that time finaly i got around to putting the 2 recoil lugs in Rogers and finaly they can be delivered. Ive nowt to hide on that mate, I let Roger down and I regret it and i'm sorry, but i didn't do it on purpose, under the circumstances i was in, i couldn't do any other. Working 2 jobs 400km apart just wasn't working, we all know that and to be honest, the stress was making me ill, seriously. (ask Roger about Stress and Hearts) I was driving to work 400km at 3 in the morning, doing a 10 hour shift, then doing another 10hr the next day, day after that a 12 hr. next day doing a 6 hour shift, (07.00 to 13.00)then driving back home 400km at 110mph getting home at 15.30-16.00 and working in the workshop till 21.00. getting up the next day and starting work at 07.00, working untill 17.00, getting a shower and then driving 400km back to work, again at 110mph for at night shiftstarting at 21.00. 2 x 12 hour night shifts and then 400km back home. that adds up to a full time job, plus 2 working days worth of hours almost spent belting up and down the autobahn, then in the 3 days off i had every 10 days trying to run the rifle business, be a Dad and a Husband as well. Hence i made the huge step to go full time, which, burocraticaly is no easy task here in sausage land. But the steps been made now. and my life expectancy has probably just increased by 40 years. I just need to get my blood pressure under control, my weight down ( too many stay awake chockolate bars and coffee during the night) and get the rest of the 30 odd rifles that are here in variouse stage of completion out the door asap. I can then do the job properly and not have all the issues of that last 18months. I hope we ( you me and Roger) can put that behind us and get on and do some business. If not i'll just have to get my wild dog stocks elsewhere. I hope we can step forward, get yer arse over to the IWA, lets sink a few beers and have a steak on me and put it behind us eh..

To the other lads. Ive been greatly touched by the level of understanding and pm's and emails and words of encouragement and support over the last 18months, and to the lads who open thier mouths and say positive things publicly, thanks.

To the others, the small kern of.. the words fail me.. you know who you are... get a life.

Right, breakfast time over ( just in case, as with yesterday some one complains that i'm posting instead of working on thier rifle) back to work,

Pete

If your circumstances were such, Pete, why keep taking the work on? Why keep letting people down? The excuses for the apalling service you've given your customers on open forums for all to see are unbelievable.

Good luck with turning your business around, but you've proven yourself untrustworthy to me.

Wow, looks like i've walked straight into a S***storm here.

High chaps. I'm new to this forum, normaly use Guntraders forum.

As i dont know what went on i cant comment other than to say this...

I own a Sako 75 s/s lam varminter in .243. It outshoots an RPA interceptor i had in .243 ack imp and that's without any mods whatsoever. I dont know what work sako had done to customise his 75 but i doubt it made it shoot any better.

On another note, i'm constantly amazed to read on foums, guys who buy a Remy 700 cos they cant afford better then take out a second mortgage to blueprint the actions, replace the stocks and god knows what else, only to get em to shoot the way a sako or tikka shoots straight out of the box !

Kinda reminds me of Ford escort man who spends a small fortune sooping up the thing when he could have bought a far better quality fast car in the first place.

What is it about Remy dustbins that folk like? The damn things have the build quality of a 70's skoda.

If there are any Remy owners reading this i'd love to read your reasons on this forum.

A little about me as i'm new to this forum.

My name is Grant and i'm the F class administrator for Luton, rifle & pistol club. We shoot as a club once a month at Bisley from 100 to 1000 yards. I get down more often if i can for load development.

I also have land to shoot bunnies and ole charlie on a regular basis. I've been shooting 30 years now.

I hope i get to know you all in time. All the best for now..

No doubt I will be like a lot of other people on here in that we have not had anything ordered/bought etc from Pete but I have asked his advice on one or two occasions and can only say that he has been more than helpful - as have some of the other members of this site when dummies like me have asked what at the time might appear stupid or even idiotic questions.

I would also echo earlier comments that the choice of builder is very much a personal one and a decision that can only be made at the time on the information in front of you and/or your own experience.

It would be disappointing if this thread degenerates into another pointless argumentative slagging match - which are becoming all too common and frankly detract significantly from what is an excellent site.

I don't think there is a business in the world that does not have it's detractors and likewise supporters - and yes, we have all heard of one/some of them.

Please, lets just get back to what we all enjoy.

Like anyone offering a service, it is very easy ( in the days of world wide web global exposure) to express an opinion of the service / product offered.

Some people are more vocal than others and it is extremely easy to make and lose reputation in some cases overnight.

Lets hope that any previous, "issues" have been put to bed and with going full time, the slate can be wiped clean.

There is no place here for slagging people off - constructive critique perhaps, but no personal attacks.

I trust that a fresh start brings back the percieved loss of face -

Now get on with my Avenger ;)

Hi Streeker....you got a sako that shoots like this pile o shite remmy then? ;)

S4300579.jpg

Dont be so hard on the good old remmy, i havent seen one yet that would,t shoot moa out of the box, and being fair, a remmy is now half the price of a sako 85 [which are overpriced] Its the 10/22 of the centrefire world, theres dozens of triggers, stocks, accessories etc for it, and people do love to go that route, its all part of the fun. I,ll give you an example, i bought a Unique Alpine in 6.5 swede, and boy did it shoot. I had it 4 months and sold it...it bored the tits off me..nothing to twiddle, or add, or improve,.....boring. Remmy,s aint perfect, but they are fun.

Welcome to the board mate, enjoy it. ;)

Streeker,

You came to the wrong place if your gonna bash Rem.

We buy them, shoot them use them, customize them:

Because we can,

Because we want to,

It isnt your money so why bother questioning or remarking about it.

Its money that keeps guys like Pete,Baldy,JR, and other Smithies in a job.

The rifle owner that is spending the money to have this or that done is bringing

money back into the industry.

Instead of turning you nose up at them, you should be kissing thier ass.
