Having trouble deciding on the next calibre to partner my 6.5 swede, 7mm but which? Would have to be in a rifle light enough to stalk with and a barrel not much more than 22-24" as I'm on a short bugger! I home load already so no problem there! Maybe the 7x64 could be an option, I see there is a couple of threads with some info already, maybe someone could chime in with some personal e Petrie car?
So have recently decided that I am fed up with TR, and having been playing with a home built F-TR rifle at my local clubs I have decided to jump into the F-Open world. I miss competing at a good level, and from everything I can tell the F class circuit if full of fun and friendly people.... So I spent a lot of time scouring this and other sights researching actions, calibres etc. and here is what I settled on: Barnard P in RBLP .284" Win with .318 neck (To just 'clean up' the necks in turning) Throat for the 180 Berger Joe West Stock 1:9 5C barrel @ +-31" And of course Mik took all of my money as a result, but I hope that I will have the rifle as quickly as Joe can supply the stock... So now I need to ponder the question of what rest and glass? The obvious answer seems to be a Seb Neo and either March or NF scope - what would you choose and why?
