An update from another (disgruntled) member of Staffordshire Phoenix Rifle and Pistol club:
Basically about 6 months the old guard in the committee threw out two long standing club members that where on the committee, who were always at the shoots, running them, training, work on the range and always made everyone feel welcome (they would even let new members shoot their own firearms!).
After they had been removed/thrown out of the club the committee then sent out several emails to all and sundry say that these guys were bullying the other members of the committee, when in reality they were voicing the concerns of the rank-and-file members (myself including) about how the club was operating and expenditure of club funds etc. We had raised these issues with other members of the committee but to no avail.
Since the purge by the old guard of the committee the club is going down the pan, they said in the emails that the club would be a lot more friendly now that the bullies were gone!!!!!, when in reality the shoots are badly run, dictatorial/unfriendly and there are a lot of other issues but I am concerned that I will get thrown out before I can find another club if I say anything else.
Therefore, I for one (and some others) will not be renewing our membership this coming year.

Hi all Email sent out last week from the old guard stating that the "larger & longer range" (a quarry) isn't happening, what a surprise. I have managed to get into a new club thanks to the two guys that got throw out last summer (Some of you know who they are!) and have not renewed with Staffs Phoenix. Good luck to all the remaining members in that club, you will need it, a lot of broken promises and bad feeling has been generated by the founding members, see my original post. ATB Joe
