  1. Happy New Year everybody! Hope it's not too late and the new year is good for you all!
  2. Interesting. I didn't know or think of that. I guess I am still learning. Just like on Stix targets 36 and 37 are 'restricted' by the flag poles at 1200 yds.
  3. To be fair l wasn't outright blaming Bisley. Other than that RobinC l totally agree with with you. It seemed to be more than a stray shot and it's a very good point about the safety issue here.
  4. To be honest no, l try to have as little to do with the office as possible. But you are right, I should have done, at least for the remembrance silence.
  5. Whatever you thought of Prince Philip, remembrance is pretty well known. There was firing through that silence too.
  6. Yeah fair point Scrumbag! Joined up thinking and NRA don't really belong in the same sentence.....
  7. Scrumbag that's a good point. I don't have anything to do with the shotgun side for obvious reasons. All the same you would think that the NRA would put notices up there too.
  8. Cease fire is cease fire. There were notices up about the minute silence at 15.00 the F Class lads in competition stopped. Just because the shotguns don't have to stop for the 12.30 hooter doesn't mean they don't ever have to. Year before last they didn't stop for remembrance. It's disrespectful.
  9. I have only just seen this, and can only comment on Bisley. The electronics at Bisley are notoriously unreliable. I've only been back since Tuesday and since then have heard of five breakdowns on the electronics over the radio. When you have a control radio it's an eye opener as to how the electronic targets perform camp wide. I put it down to poor maintenance by Bisley. As for human markers, there are a few good NRA markers, but they are the minority, ask the F Class guys who were at the Imperial. At least with private markers you are more likely to get what you pay for. You know where l am
  10. Not all markers are bored teenagers.......

  11. Ha ha ha! Fair enough, you know wherr I am! 😃
  12. ???? Have I ever marked for you? Hilarious vid btw....
  13. Better late than never. Happy New Year!
  14. Happy New Year everybody! Here's hoping next year will be better than this one. See you on the range soon.
  15. I would say go for it. You are allowed to go for exercise, and there's no rule as to how far you have to travel. The reality is there's no police around here to stop you or question you. I don't think armed response on Short Siberia would care either.
  16. Take it from me there's not a lot of evidence that Bisley cares. From the dead earwigs in the hand gel (for weeks) to the social distancing notices in the bins in the butts, you would think the pandemic was over! I went to speak to a member of staff. I was the only one wearing a mask. It's more like what Roy W said, it's a business decision due to lack of cutomers.
  17. Once again interesting. I was availble thurs PM, on century AM private.
  18. I think you will find it's not just small bookings that are messed around with. They cancelled three targets recently sighting lack of markers. As for most of the staff being on furlough, some have just been made redundant.
  19. I was surprised Bisley closed (as it was clear from gov.org.uk they could remain open). Now they are opening as they did after the first lockdown, on electronic targets only. That's me off work for the foreseeable then! Bisley put in an awful lot of Covid measures when they reopened after the first lockdown. I don't see why they are coming to nothing now. As for their customers travelling, thats not for the NRA to police. From a business perspective, it's probably that the business won't be there. It certainly won't be if they restrict shooters to hourly bookings on electronic targets. Merry Christmas everybody, 2021 isn't starting off too well.
  20. Welcome to the forum, better late than never!
  21. Erm, Bisley is closed. See you there in December. Hopefully.
