  1. Hi, I also load with N135, 30gn under a Sierra 52gnHPBT which is mustard on long range bunnies out to 500m
  2. I bough a custom Remmie last year in 22BR. Lovely rifle to shoot and very accurate. The trigger was ok to start with but quickly became creepy and notch’s and just not very nice to use. It was a Rifle Basix trigger so I contacted them on line for advice. They could not have been more helpful. After several emails with suggestions on how to adjust and things to try they made arrangements with me for a phone call. I spoke to a very helpful chap called Jeff but we agreed the trigger was probably no good. Jeff made an offer to post me a brand new trigger assembly which he had set to a pound pull weight. Cost me just £20 to cover the postage. Dropped the trigger into the rifle today and it is spot on 😀 Brilliant product and first class customer service. Can’t fault them
  3. Hi Tom i used an epoxy resin on the forend of my rifle. This is a Mauser M12 Impact and although the forend had a reasonable stiffness it did flex under pressure. I used a hot wire to rough up the intererior and to create holes between the interior webbing structure and then used ZPoxy epoxy resin to fill the forend. I made sure this didn’t impinge on the barrel. I also eased the barrel channel a little to reduce the risk of forend touching the barrel. This didn’t significantly increase stiffness and added a little extra weight but it is not a total solution. I still need to be careful when loading the bipod. Hope this helps Pete
  4. Bit late to this thread. My 22BR runs a 20” Shillen barrel 1:14 twist rate and using 52gn Sierra Match King and 30gn Vit N135 gives velocities averaging around 3600. No recoil to talk about and capable of head shooting rabbits at over 400 yards when I was out with Richard Utting in summer last year
  5. Hi, if you have a 100 308s available could you let me know and PM me how much and your payment details please Cheers Pete
  6. Good call. Will do that. Sand bags aren’t the best
  7. Love those groups, hope I can get there with mine, I’ll give those loads a go
  8. Thanks for the replies folks love shooting this calibre so I’ll try out some of the suggested loads over the next few months Any advice on where to pick up things like a case length gauge for trimming cases to length and if Lee do a neck sizing die. I don’t like the redding one I have with the expander ball Few piccies of the rifle and first groups
  9. Well, although I didn’t want to I went and bought a semi custom wildcat, a 22BR, Remington 700 action rifle. What a lovely rifle to shoot. 21” Shillen barrel, heavy profile, 1:14” twist rate. The recipe that came with it was 52gr Sierra HPBT Match King and 30gr Varget. The supplied loaded bullets did indeed shoot ‘bug hole’ groups. Shame I can’t get Varget powder! now working up loads with N135 which is looking promising. 100m groups so far are in the 4-12mm C-C size Pictures to follow as as well as updates on the load development Any comments, thoughts or advice gratefully received. I am new to this game so any advice or recommendations are appreciated Pete
