  1. I'm looking to buy a tripod for rifle use. I don't want one with a hog saddle. I will use it exclusively with an arca rail. I don't want one with a central post either or any more than 3 sections, probably carbon fibre but want one tall enough, I'm 6'3". I'd have to buy sight unseen but I'm not overly familiar with the different options. It seems on a casual look around shooting specific tripods seem to cost a lot more than photography ones. Is there any reason for that? If you were to buy a good quality photography tripod and head with plenty of weight capacity built in does it amount to the same thing? Also for those that have used both, what would you recommend. A ball head or levelling base? Any specific kits, makes/models or tripods and heads separately would be appreciated. Or ones to avoid! Shooting specific or photography. Many thanks.
  2. Hi thanks for that, unfortunately they are out of stock just now. Does anyone know where else one might pick one up?
  3. Just took my .260 T3 out and noticed the plastic shroud has broken on one side. I'd prefer to replace it with something fairly standard looking but ideally in some sort of metal. I read an old thread where it talks about the spring inside the replacement shrouds to prevent rattling increase locktime and trigger pull. I don't want to do either! I haven't removed the shroud yet, does the plastic one not have a spring inside? I looked on the Beretta E-store they have the T3X shroud in aluminium listed but its out of stock. It appears to have a spring inside by the picture. Whats the best option? Thanks.
  4. Hi Rick, I've sent a couple of messages regarding the mounts. Not sure if you're just not seeing my PMs? Mounts haven't arrived with me yet....
  5. I didn't get an acknowledgement here or a PM either. Just silence......
  6. I'll take one please. If you send your details I'll sort the payment. Many thanks.
  7. Yeah I had the same from Jasonxx in the wanted section. Referring to "Steven in Texas".
  8. As a farmer I dont feel lucky. As a sportsman I do. When you have large numbers they cause so much damage to the hay fields at this time of year. On the other hand I get plenty shooting. Just too many for comfort this year!
  9. We've never had so many rabbits on the farm, a proper plague this year. Once the hay is cut I'd expect quite a few nights of several hundred quite easily. That wont be for a while yet though as the grass is pretty late this year as a result of our non-existent summer! Just getting time to deal with the blighters! We've had black rabbits here for 7 or 8 years now, always see them near the same holes. Funnily they dont spread to the rest of the farm, despite me not shooting them!
  10. Thank you for that Laurie, I overlooked the region buttons! I'd also be keen to hear how you get on with it with the 139's.
  11. I'm quite keen to try some RS62. Does anyone know of any suppliers up in the north of Scotland or anyone that is willing to ship it from anywhere in the UK, I know its expensive to ship powders but I'm keen to try it out. Just as an aside, and I know its not something we suffer from too much in the UK, but does anyone know how temperature stable the Reload Swiss powders are? Has anyone used RS62, specifically in .260, if so how did they find it? Looking at Quickload it shows pretty decent velocities without going to a double-based powder.
  12. Hello I'm looking for a mod for a Rem LTR .223, was going to buy a ASE CQBS then stumbled on this page. Are your mods a similar size? How quickly could I get one? And also how much? Warranty? Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. P.S. What would the size and weight be?
