Had the A8 Varmint ret on a S&B 4-16 Varmint scope but sold it as I found it too fine a ret to use for lamping on a 22-250 as I couldn't get quick target acquisition unless set to high magnification. I now use a 243 for lamping and the 22-250 for daytime pest control, where the fine ret and dots for bullet drop would be useful so I may buy one again. I also use a S&B 2.5-10x56 with the L7 ret on a 222 and this I find an excellent scope as the dot isn't so large as to obscure your target and the gap between the dot and the fine ret allows holdover.
