SAVAGE OPEN DAY AT ESKDALEMUIR 2 MILE RANGE

Recommended Posts

If you get the chance to go I would seriously recommend it.

Its a great venue with gongs every 100 yards out to 1000 yards and well beyond, Marc is also a great host and you are certain of a good day with a friendly atmosphere.

I'm new to the long range shooting sport and I was not aware of this place. Look's like a good place to go. 👍

It's an excellent place to start Lee.

You can confirm your Zero at 100 and then step out in 100 increments banging away at good size steel plates to dinky steel plates until you run out of ammo!

Marc will help you if needed or other shooters (all a good bunch) and excuse me for being patronising if it comes over that way (just being helpful!!) I would suggest you print a ballistic calculator/solution for your ammo based on your known estimated velocities so that you can dial in for each distance. If you have a kestrel all good but if not suggest you print off a ballistic calculator for 5 10 & 15 mph winds so that you can get a reasonable guesstimate for dialling in windage for the different distances.

They also ave full coffee and biscuits and toilet facilities (and that's in order of priority for me!) 😁

It's also under cover as well.

All the best

G

Anyone manage to attend this on Saturday?

Shot there once before - cracking facility - though my little Fiat was not keen on the final leg of the drive up

Range fees are £20 per day at Longtown (100yds) or £40 per day at Eskdalemuir 2 Mile Range, give Dave at the shop or email me for a membership form!
