MACH 2
I am looking for a system of quick release mounts for a Sako Quad rifle. I am hoping to switch from a 1" tube to a 30mm tube. Any suggestions welcome.
palo
You can get a picatinny rail for the sako quad and then use any quick release picatinny rings
MACH 2
I actually purchased QR Leopold rings and bases. They are supposed to hold their zero after removing the scope and replacing it.The bases have for some reason a tapered dovetail base. As far as I can remember the quad has a 11mm dovetail rail on it but the clamping mechanism on the bases are from 12 to 18 mm. How do I attach them to the rifle. I have the rings and the mounts now. Hoping to change the bases for the correct ones. If I use the picatinny rail and I get QR mounts for the rail will the scope hold its zero after repeatedly removing the scope.
The Burpster
If you have a one piece rail then yes it should be within one click. Always check until you know what the effects of removing and reffitting has but mine don’t move noticeably. if you want guaranteed results you need a one piece rail and one piece mount with QR. Two piece mounts always allow slight flex of mounts or tube.

MACH 2
Now where do I get a one piece quick release mount. Gave a quick search. £200 plus.
The Burpster
Vortex and UTG do less expensive ones but the American Defense Recon is the best VFM. if using one piece you need to ensure the engineering is up to scratch - sorry it’s not cheap but it is reliable.... MACH 2
Theses don't seem to be quick release.
MACH 2
I see in an air rifle forum where someone got Leopold Quick Release Base blanks. Theses bases could be machined to whatever rifle that they were needed to be put on.
philpot
I normally buy any weaver / picatiny rails from Ant Supplies, worth a look. https://www.ant-supplies.uk/ Phil
