Codders69
Well, although I didn’t want to I went and bought a semi custom wildcat, a 22BR, Remington 700 action rifle. What a lovely rifle to shoot. 21” Shillen barrel, heavy profile, 1:14” twist rate. The recipe that came with it was 52gr Sierra HPBT Match King and 30gr Varget. The supplied loaded bullets did indeed shoot ‘bug hole’ groups. Shame I can’t get Varget powder! now working up loads with N135 which is looking promising. 100m groups so far are in the 4-12mm C-C size Pictures to follow as as well as updates on the load development Any comments, thoughts or advice gratefully received. I am new to this game so any advice or recommendations are appreciated Pete
Rob1562
I have an AI Ax chassis with 20" Bartlein barrel barrel, built by Steve Kershaw.......I absolutely love the cartridge and the build. I use 32grn of N135 behind either 50grn V-max or 52grn Berger....both shoot great groups at around 3650fps. Couldn't be happier Regards, Rob. OSOK
Pete , Try 31.0g / 31.5g of N133 behind a BR4 ..... This was my load using a 52g Barts , So Sierra will be fine . Greg

Elwood
Fantastic caliber, my choice of powder is either H322 or Benchmark with a Nosler 50 BT. There's still plenty of both powders out there and getting 225 rounds out of a 1 lb pot it shouldn't bother you.

Codders69
Thanks for the replies folks love shooting this calibre so I’ll try out some of the suggested loads over the next few months Any advice on where to pick up things like a case length gauge for trimming cases to length and if Lee do a neck sizing die. I don’t like the redding one I have with the expander ball Few piccies of the rifle and first groups

NigelM
22BR - 26"barrel, 9 twist, 69gr TMK's @ 3240 fps 5 shot group. Great for foxing or targets out to 600m

Will do that. Sand bags aren’t the best
No i deer
I can foresee many a onehole groups from the SEB neo
palo
I quite fancy a 22br myself. Is there much work in prepping the brass ? I assume you just run the 6mm brass through a 22br full length die or do you have to neck turn as well.
justin credible
Yes you are correct, neck the 6br case down ( two stages is best) and then turn the necks, easy as that.
