deadcenter Posted July 11, 2019 Report Share Posted July 11, 2019 Hello chaps, I'm just about to load up some Hornady ELD-x 162gr for 7mm-08 with the intention of shooting them at paper out to 600 meters at the weekend. I see that the BC of these is a little different from the ELD match bullet. Is there any reason to worry that these may perform badly at this distance, or even further? Not sure of any boat tail differences or bullet shape between them. Just wondering what to expect. I usually shoot 150gr SMKs but thought I'd give these a go. Any thoughts? Strelok says easily supersonic at a thousand yards? I'll probably never shoot them that far. Elevation was 16 mins over the 100 yard zero at 600m. Loaded them over 44.5gr RS60 for approx 2600 fps. Standard Rem 700 Varmint of 1980's vintage. I think any probs were the wind and me reading it. Not a serious F class tool, but had fun.
