Loading tray/block for .338 Lapua.

Can anyone recommend a lading tray/block that will actually take this cartridge case?  I have a couple here which were all advertised as being up to the job but all were too small.  Ideally, something that's available in the UK or EU.

Thanks.

Just don't use oak or sweet chestnut. As tanin react with the brass.

Discover from personal experience 😉

I’ve just got one from raptor on here. Takes a couple of weeks but is nicely made and no chance of knocking cases over once in the holder.

Yeah, but it won't impress your mates, will it ? Not shiny and expensive looking..................someone will no doubt pipe up about "Spends 5K on a rifle and reloads using a block of wood with holes  drilled in it???"

Mine are made from a bit of old decking joist, pine, I think, impregnated with some arsenic compound to stop rot.😉

I went the high-tech route:  composite.

At least that's what I think 18mm ply from Wicks is called🤣   A forstner bit cuts a nice flat bottomed hole.

Yep....forstner  bit and a drill = custom made blocks.

I added a routed fancy edge and oiled the wood....included a central tray for tools in a 100 round block with leatherette liner.

Completely over the top and bling but totally functional and cost damn-all.😆

The last time i bought Santos rosewood it was over £400 per cubic foot, loading blocks made from that would impress your mates😀, and better looking than any bit of stainless or plastic😃
