Borisserge
Just seen that MDT are offering 12 round 6BR specific magazines in metal. https://mdttac.com/ca_en/mdt-metal-magazines-short-action.html
Catch-22
It's great - other mag companies (AI included) should've done this years ago.
Panda
I see they're doing the .308 mags with no binder plate as well. I think my future 6.5 Super LR project has just been made a bit easier 😊.
pengo
Any chance these would fit a Tikka 595 in 6BR?

Never looked at the CDI website until today. They even make bottom metal for the Sako L579!
Borisserge
This should turn around a lot of actions in to 6BR repeaters with confidence.
No i deer
Sunday at bisley was the first time I've seen a 6mm br close up.i didn't realise the case was so short.
Woodlander
Baldie makes a conversion kit to make the AICS mag reliably feed the 6br. I think it simply pushes the cartridge further forward,to avoid it flipping. Has anyone seen it in action?
Rob1562
Hi.....yes I've got this conversion for my 22br and it works faultlessly. Regards, Rob. ps I think others offer this conversion as well....with the advent of 3D printers its fairly straightforward to make the polymer blocks, it's resolving the spring alteration/shortening that causes the head scratching. Guesty
I use a 308 family AICS Accurate Mag with Patriot Valley 6BR insert in my Tikka T3 and it has been utterly reliable so far with all bullets tried (60 to 115 grain) at any bolt cranking speed. Woodlander
Looks great and I assume roomy enough to load 105s. Thanks Rib
Woodlander
Matt, did you buy and fit it yourself and are they available in the UK?

I ordered direct from the Patriot Valley website, and had no issues getting it shipped to the UK. The only problem was the price, the Accurate AICS mag was IIRC about £90 and the Patriot kit another £60+ after shipping etc.
Woodlander
Ouch!! Will be worth it though. 👍
Catch-22
I can definitely give a thumbs up for the CDI precision bottom metal. I ordered one from them for my last M595 and used standard AICS mags. Worked perfectly. The CDI people were very pleasant and helpful. Only thing to bear in mind is if wanting to use AICS mags in an M595, your gunsmith needs to mill a small groove either side of the bottom of the action to allow the mag feedlips to sit a bit higher. Without the modification the bolt can’t strip a round. CDI provide full instructions on what needs to be done. The above operation is best done when you rebarrel because the action must go for re-proof as a result of the milling work. baldie
I've done the 6mmBr magazine conversion for some time. I had new springs made [ the original will not work ] and new followers. The kit is £50 plus carriage.
