ronzi83
Ok, so i am back from testing. Today i tried RS 70 with 147 eld-m. I must say i am suprised how good speed i got. So, i have 24.016 inch barrel and OBT say my node is at 1.229ms with 2788fps. In QL it say 45.6 grains at 2'870coal. I tested it 45.3, 45.6 and 45.9. Those are actuall numbers i shoot (on pic down). 1st i shoot 5 shoots to each load on target and after i shoot away from this target to measure speed for each load (since i dont have labradar and magnetospeed will change my POI...) In calculation i need to go down 0.4grains to match speed from QL. So the same load 45.6 (calculated from QL) gave me actuall 2812 fps, thats like 1.211ms. I think this is really nice powder for this bullet weight and there is NON sign of any pressure. Now i need to test it at different celsius and se its stability, since i dont trust data from Swiss Reload - https://www.reload-swiss.com/en/reload_swiss/service_3/tipps_und_tricks_neu/temperaturkoeffizient/index.php
MichalS
What is the case fill? With RS62 and 147ELD @2,80" I get compressed loads around 43 grain.
ronzi83
How can you compress it ? For me, i tap it 2-3 times in lapua case and i seat the bullet ok. So today i went to range and i shoot it 2'800 coal with 44.5 RS 70 and was hole in hole almost. I think this will be my load. Now i need to test it at different temperatires and i will let you know. I need to state it, i am NOT banchrestand i dont weight bullets/cases... ronzi83
Rs70 is temp stable. I did not test it, because i changed bullet company to Lapua. I got one bullet hornady 147 eld-m with totally different ogive ( i could not close bolt) and for me this is enought big excuse to go for new bullet company. As i already chaged barrel (tested few bullets with old barrel) i know i will not be disapointed and damm i was right. You can see 139 Lapua scenar x5 with N550 below. Rem Imperri
Interested on @Laurie's opinion of RS 70 for the creedmore cartridge . Everyone seems to be talking RS60/62 but 70 (while a full load) seems like it will push things ~140gr mark quite well from my looksee on QL & Gordons. SeaMonkey
Ronzi83, that's some fine shooting fella and good information 👍
TacsterDK
I have developed the following load which seem very promising; 6.5 Creedmoor - 147gr ELD-M - Petersen brass, Large Rifle Primer - 43.1gr RS70 (Fill 100.1%) - RWS 5333 magnum primer - COAL 71.10mm - Vo 800ms / 2625fps (out of a 21" barrel) - ES 5ms It is a very mild load, but it is a joy to shoot and will prolong the life of the components. Over the summer I will test this load for temperature stability (-20 degrees Celcius to + 30 degrees Celcius) Did a temperature test with 142gr Accubond LR and 38.4gr VV N150 + the same components as listed above. ES to start with at 15 degrees Celsius was 3 and SD 1. The temperature stability test showed that the difference in Vo from -20 degrees to + 30 degrees was only 5 m/s. That is pretty d... good! ES and SD were pretty much the same - cold or hot! I'll be back /TT
